Wrexham Foodbank has just launched its annual appeal for food for its Christmas Food parcels. Sadly, more people in the UK than ever are in need of help to feed their children and give them chance to celebrate this Christmas, so any donations you can give, big or small, will be very much appreciated. The families who receive the parcels are nominated by Social Services, health workers, staff at local charities and other similar officials so that you can be certain that they go to those who really need and will appreciate them.
Glyndŵr University Chaplaincy will be collecting between 21st November and 1st of December. We’ll place collection tubs in the ELC, Students Union Building, main reception hall and other spots on campus. You can also bring items directly to the Chaplaincy Office in the Students’ Union Building. They particularly need tinned fruit, soup, breakfast cereal, long-life milk and fruit juice, dried food such as rice or pasta, pasta sauces, biscuits, tinned goods such as rice pudding, packets of sugar, tea bags and coffee. You could also include Christmassy treats such as sweets or chocolate biscuits. Toiletries such as toothpaste, soaps, shampoo, ladies sanitary items, toothbrushes, shower gel and deodorant are also much appreciated.
Thanks for the generous support you gave last year – let’s see if we can beat the 20kgs of food we collected then!
