Passive smoking: protecting your fellow colleagues

Second hand smoke can be just as dangerous as smoking it contains many irritants, toxins and is invisible, so no matter how careful you think you're being, people around you still breathing in the harmful poisons.  The only surefire way of protecting friends and colleagues from second hand smoke is to keep the environment around them smoke free.

At Glyndwr University we have designated a 5m exclusion zone around doors and areas where smoke can enter buildings through windows.

If you are smoking in an area where you shouldn’t be staff will politely request that you move away, please comply with their wishes.  A good indicator of where you can smoke is where smoking bins have been situated around campus.

In the coming months we will be hosting Stop Smoking Wales so if you would like to stop smoking there will be plenty of advice, hints and tips available to you.

Thank you
