Students

All first time students under the age of 25 years are recommended to get vaccinated against Mengococcal ACWY (MenACWY).  This is an urgent programme in response to a rise in cases and deaths caused by MenW meningococcal strains.

Students starting university who have not already been vaccinated should arrange to get it as soon as possible.

We would encourage you to:

  1. 1.       Make sure you are registered with a GP http://www.wales.nhs.uk/ This website will help you to find the nearest to where you are living if you have moved away from your home area.
  2. 2.       Request the MenACWY vaccination from your GP if you did not receive the vaccine prior to starting university.
  3. 3.       Make sure you are up to date with all of your immunisations.
